THE thought of exercise can make some people exhausted.
But Kerrie Mewett enjoyed it so much she turned it into a career.
The 37-year-old Wilton resident who owns Kerrie Fitness in Campbelltown recently won the Les Mills Asia Pacific Instructor of the Year award.
Les Mills is a group fitness-based program instructors can choose to adopt.
This was the second time in six years she had won the award.
There were about 200 nominations received for the award before a shortlist of 12 finalists.
“I’m so honoured and blown away,” she said.
Mrs Mewett began her career in fitness about 13 years ago when her first child was born.
Sick of the “boring treadmill that was a chore”, she decided to give group fitness a try.
“I saw the [group fitness] classes and they were having so much fun I there I thought I should go and join them.”
